Hi! My name is Witold (pronounced "vee-told") and I am the founder of BlackerFriday.com. After many years working in corporate america, I decided it was time to take a break to pursue my real passion — helping people save money. Ever since I was a little boy selling pencils in the playground to my kindergarden friends, later collecting aluminum cans from all my neighbors in elementary school to support my baseball card addiction, eventually becoming an eBay Power Seller in my older years to support my college education, I had an eye for spotting deals. I’ve taken what I have learned over the years and built Blacker Friday to bring you the best Black Friday rumors, predictions, and news website. Fortunately I'm not alone in this - We have a great team of dedicated folks helping make this site possible. If you would like to connect with me you can do so on my Linkedin page, on our site’s Facebook page, or write me an email. Thanks for checking us out and I look forward to hearing from you!

When is the tax filing deadline this year?

This year you’ll have up until 11:59PM your local time on Monday April 15, 2025 to file your federal tax return and October 15, 2025 for extended filings. If you’re sending your taxes by mail then many post offices will be open late in order to accommodate your tax return. If you’re sending it out electronically (e-file), then recommend not waiting until the last minutes to file. However, if you do file a day or two late… then the late fees aren’t usually to bad (last fees and interest charges are calculated based on how late you file).

I’m an Uber driver, can I use TurboTax?

As an Uber driver you’re considered as self-employed (you’re not on Uber’s permanent payroll). TurboTax is already made to accommodate Uber drivers when you use their Self-Employed Home & Business versions.

What’s a TurboTax Service Code?

Once it’s time to complete your TurboTax order, you’ll see a section where you can enter an optional “service code”. If you have one then you can enter it, but it’s not needed unless you received one from a TurboTax support agent. They are usually given out for either order tracking or to apply a discount. But because all the discounts we currently have don’t require a service code, you can leave this area blank.

I made a mistake but I’ve already filed.

No worries, TurboTax lets you amend your already-filed tax return. You’ll find the link to amend your return within your online TurboTax account.

Do I need a computer to use TurboTax?

One of the benefits of TurboTax Online is that you can work on and complete your tax return from any internet-connected device, no software installation is required. So that means you can use your iPhone, Tablet, etc., to file your return. On the other hand, if you decide to purchase a TurboTax Desktop version, then you will only be able to use the software on the machine that you’ve chosen to install the software on.

Are there other TurboTax deals available?

In years past just about every banking and financial institution offered a discount on TurboTax. Even some went as far as giving available TurboTax free to select customers (the Vanguard TurboTax offer was a popular one a few years ago). However lately things have changed and you won’t find as many of these partner offers anymore. Fortunately you’ve got us here at Blacker Friday tracking all of the latest deals for you so no need to hunt around for other deals — Everything you’ll need to know is located right here, conveniently located in one place.

What’s a TurboTax Service Code?

This a common question we see every year… that’s because chances are that you’ll see an “enter your TurboTax service code” box at checkout once you’re ready to pay for your copy of TurboTax. This section is optional and typically used as a tracking tool for folks that have received help from a TurboTax chat or support agent. It’s sometimes also used to apply an order discount. However, because all the discounts we track are web-enabled, you won’t need to do anything here as the offers activated on this page are all automatically applied to your order.
