Updated on Wednesday, November 6, 2024: As one of the most popular places to shop on Black Friday and over Thanksgiving weekend, The Home Depot is a store that we watch closely (every year since 2016!). And often we’re lucky and are able to secure a leaked ad well in advance (we already have their “Black Friday Savings” ad posted below, with deals running from November 7-27, 2024). Here’s everything you need to know:
- The Home Depot will launch an early round of “Black Friday Savings” at the beginning of November and then the main event arrives on Thanksgiving Day itself. If the trend continues, then there are the likely sale start and end dates:
- Black Friday Savings (confirmed): From Thursday, November 7th to Wednesday, November 27, 2024. Shop in-stores or at homedepot.com.
- Black Friday 2024 Main Event (expected): Thursday, November 28th to Wednesday, December 4th, 2024.
- Last year the “main event” ad was only 10 pages long (usually 20 to 30 pages long). It often features power tool bundles, appliances, Christmas decor, various home improvement specials (i.e. faucets, garage door openers, laminate flooring, etc.), and of course their famous live poinsettia “special buy”.
- Most of the advertised specials are available both on stores and online, however last year there was a handful of specials that were online-only.
- Stores are always closed for the enter day on Thanksgiving in observance of the national holiday. They reopen on Black Friday at 6:00AM.

Black Friday 2024 Sales Schedule
The Home Depot’s Black Friday sale consists of a “savings event” that begins in early November and ends on Wednesday, the day before Thanksgiving. It is then usually followed by their main event that will start online on Thursday, Thanksgiving day, and in-stores on Friday morning when stores open. The deals are expected to be valid through the following Wednesday or while in-stock supplies last.
- Confirmed “Black Friday Savings” start date: Thursday, November 7, 2024.
- Confirmed “Black Friday Savings” end date: Wednesday, November 27, 2024.
- Expected main Black Friday sale start date: Online on Thursday, November 28, 2024 and in-stores on Friday, November 29, 2024.
- Expected main Black Friday sale end date: Wednesday December 4, 2024 or while supplies last (that’s 2 days after Cyber Monday).
